SUMMARY:Ticket to Ryde - August Bank Holiday
DESCRIPTION:Situated along the seafront just a stone’s throw from Ryde’s golden sand beaches\, this free-to-attend event has become a Bank Holiday highlight! It provides a rich mix of bank holiday entertainment for both Island residents as well as an attraction for visitors to the Island’s shores. \nOur annual community event Ticket To Ryde has been running for 8 years and has become so popular with the Island community that working with our friends at Ryde Town Council\, we’re delighted to say it will once again be returning on each of the Bank Holiday weekends (excluding the Coronation) throughout Spring and Summer 2023! \nA superb platform for local musicians to showcase their talent\nAn original 1979 American Airstream stage originating from Santa Fe Springs in California provides the centre-piece to the Bank Holiday festivities. Rising up on hydraulics\, this shiny silver-bullet stage supplied by our sister company\, Retro Staycations\, is a spectacle in its own right! Established bands and fresh new upcoming local talent will be performing live throughout the duration of the weekend. \nHeld during the annual International Scooter Rally\, the final edition of Ticket to Ryde this year provides the ideal opportunity to be entertained by the very best Island bands and features a massive 60’s playlist for scooter fans. \nOver the August Bank Holiday weekend\, feel-good live music will be provided by Scooted & Booted Sound System\, The Resisters\, Hot Pocket\, Charlene Duncan\, Usual Suspects\, Bethan John\, It’s Not a Phase Mom!\, Emellia\, Hash Tag and many more. \nAny local acts who wish to perform may get in touch with us here. If we can possibly squeeze you into our existing running order\, we will! \n  \n \n \nSTAGE TIMES\nSATURDAY 26th AUGUST \nCharlene Duncan                     11:00 \nEmellia                                       12:30 \nScooted & Booted                   14:00 \nIt’s Not a Phase Mom!              16:00 \nBethan John                              17:30 \nThe Resisters                             19:00 \n \nSUNDAY 27th AUGUST  \nCharlene Duncan                      11:00 \nScooted & Booted                     12:30 \nHash Tag                                     16:00 \nUsual Suspects                          17:30 \nHot Pocket                                  19:00 \n  \n\n \n \n \n \n\n\nCharity fundraising & awareness building\nTicket to Ryde is staged for the community to support Island charities and traders. This year our Charity of the Year is the MS Society Isle of Wight. Volunteers will have a presence at each event and as well as fundraising\, are keen to advise how their various support schemes can help enhance the lives of those living with Multiple Sclerosis here on the Island\, along with the many carers\, family and wider networks of people who are touched by this condition. \nHand-picked Island stalls & delicious freshly-cooked food\nThere will be a real ale bar courtesy of Island Ales\, hot food freshly cooked by Island caterers including mouth-watering loaded fries\, burgers freshly cooked-to-order pizza and jacket potatoes\, all made using locally sourced ingredients. There will also be delicious churros\, donuts and ice lollies\, locally produced shortbread and cheesecakes. Not forgetting artisanal coffees (both hot + iced) and speciality teas\, all served with a smile! \nYou can also browse a range of traditional market stalls. Why not pose for a hand-drawn caricature or have your tarot cards read? A range of children’s activities\, including sand bottle-filling\, hair braiding and face painting will keep the little ones happy whilst the adults relax and enjoy the music. \n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nOrganised by Jack Up Events in conjunction with Ryde Town Council to enable residents to engage with culture at no cost on their doorstep\, Ticket to Ryde is an established event now in its 9th year and is a firm favourite in the Island’s calendar. \nWith a lovely atmosphere and laid back family-friendly vibe\, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a lazy bank holiday weekend! \n  \n\n \n \n \n \n\nUseful event information: \nNo advance tickets are required – just turn up with your friends and family\, and enjoy! \nOnly alcohol purchased from the licensed bar may be purchased within the licensed event area \nTrade stalls open from 10am \nOn-stage proceedings kick-off at lunchtime each day until 8pm \nPlease leave the seafront location quietly out of respect for our neighbours \n
